Complex Polygon Definition

A complex polygon is an area with more than one polygon, but is stored as a single object in Didger. The complex polygon may contain islands, such as the Hawaiin Islands or lakes (holes within an area).

Complex polygons can be separate islands

as shown for Hawaii (top), or can contain lakes

that form holes in the larger area (bottom).

In either case, each is a single object type.
